Before operating the panel bender, ensure that the tools used are compatible with the control program.
Always turn off the panel bender after work is completed.
Close the machine to the center of the bottom dead point, move the slider to the bottom dead center, turn off the main motor, set the operation switch to "0", and also turn the main switch to "0".
Use two blocks of the same height to shut down the panel bender. Place the two blocks on the worktable, set the operation mode selector to "2". Once the panel bender is off, manually pull the slider down until it touches the blocks. Then set the operation mode selector to "0", and finally set the main switch to "0".
When using the emergency stop button, all axes and pumps will stop, but the control system will not shut down. To restart the machine: first release the emergency stop button, then press the green button to operate the machine. No need to reset the upper and lower die parameters.
It is recommended that maintenance and repair of the panel bender be performed by personnel with experience, and that they carefully read the operation manual for the panel bender that needs to be repaired.
It is advisable to have the panel bender manufacturer conduct repairs.
The machine operators should check the machine daily to avoid oil leaks or loose machine parts.
If the machine failure cannot be resolved independently, it is recommended to contact the panel bender manufacturer immediately.
Check the guide rails weekly and apply oil.
The backgauge also needs to be lubricated.
Check the tension of the transmission belts.
Clean the instrument panel and check the drive components.
Clean the dies and check for any damage.
Check the hydraulic oil daily. When the slider is at its highest point, observe the oil level. If the hydraulic oil is insufficient, add oil promptly.
Add 10% hydraulic oil to the oil tank and allow the hydraulic oil to complete one full cycle. This will help calculate the oil tank volume and the hydraulic pump cycle frequency.
When the slider reaches the top dead point, add hydraulic oil until it reaches the middle of the oil level gauge (visible from the back of the oil tank).
Cycle Time (minutes) = Oil Tank Volume (L) / Hydraulic Pump Cycle Frequency * 5
High-Power Oil Filter (Note: Small panel bender does not have this filter, so this step can be skipped.)
After the panel bender has been in operation for 200 hours, the filter element must be replaced. After that, it should be replaced every six months or after 1000 hours of operation, or when the yellow indicator light for filter replacement turns on. The filter mesh should have a filtration precision of 10 microns. After replacing the filter element, the panel bender must operate for at least one hour.
Note: If the yellow indicator light turns on, after replacing the filter, the panel bender should run for more than eight hours.
If the purchased panel bender does not have an automatic backgauge positioning function, it is recommended to check the starting positions of all axes weekly.
Check the measurement system of the panel bender.
Check the adjustable parts of the machine.
Check the sensors, sliders, backgauge, and upper and lower dies.
By following the maintenance steps outlined above in the daily operation of the panel bender, you can not only reduce the failure rate of the machine but also extend its service life.
