WHAT CAN SWISS LATHE DO

One page about CNC SWISS-TYPE LATHE

1. The background and brief introduction of our Swiss lathe

As so called swiss type lathe, so why it is called swiss type lathe? To answer this question, we should look back to the history of this special technology. Swiss lathes were originally designed by Swiss watchmaker Jakob Schweizer to produce extremely small parts for the watchmaking industry. The first Swiss-style lathe was developed in the 1870s but it started gaining popularity in other industries in the 1960s thanks to its high precision and low margin of error. In this background, we named it with swiss type lathe which is specialized for processing the small and precision parts.

As a company striving into this industry with more than 20 years. We founded our company and made our first generation with simple version in 1990s. After two generation’s efforts, we have been grown up with the first three leading manufacturer for the Swiss type lathe. In the domestic Chinese west and south market our machines won a super high reputation and repurchase rate. We adhere to the high quality product and good after-sales services,

2. The main introduction of SA-series Swiss lathe

Our SA series Swiss Type Lathe which combines sliding tools and turret which is multi tool holders, main spindles, sub-spindles and  rotating tool axes are fully integrated on structure. It can quickly perform turning, milling, drilling, tapping, and side milling operations . This makes it the perfect choice for processing small and complex parts.

3. The advantages of Swiss type lathe

The advantages of using a Swiss lathe to produce parts are numerous. These machines reduce deflection in long and thin parts to increase accuracy and reduce cycle times. It can perform both milling and turning for more versatility. A machine may have as many as 28 tools mounted on it at one time to provide single-process machining.

4. The applications of Swiss lathe and the typical samples

Swiss lathes are widely used in the production of medical devices and implants, where precision and bio-compatibility are critical.

Typical Samples:

5. What is important before you choose your swiss type lathe

-Machining and Assembling technology

The good machining and Assembling technology is quite vital for the cnc swiss type lathe. As the leading manufacturer for CNC Swiss lathe with around 20 years. We have the sufficient quality inspection system from the machining to the assembling. And also our experts with sufficient knowledge of different industry which can offer professional turnkey solutions for valuable customer.

-Tools selection modules

We offers the rich tool selection modules according to your industry applications. This can be flexible and customized with your processing demands.

-Guide Bushing

The guide bushing supports the part at a distance from the collet. During machining, the bar material is clamped in a collet that can slide along behind the guide bushing which can minimize the tailing material. More over, With this special design,  Such mechanical configuration prevents any significant deflections during machining the thin and long parts

-Faster Cycle Times for Complex Parts

Our swiss type lathe feature between 3 and 6 axes(currently) and can perform multiple operations on the part in a single machining cycle; thread cutting, end-face grooving, drilling, slotting, milling, cut-off, and back drilling in a single path
